Ludhiana’s Shabana Set to Represent India at Egypt Para Badminton International 2026

The district administration has sponsored international para-badminton player Shabana to participate in the SPIRO SPATHIS Egypt Para Badminton International 2026, reaffirming its commitment to supporting sports and empowering specially-abled athletes.
The tournament will be held in Egypt from January 13 to 18, 2026, and the administration’s decision ensures Shabana receives full backing as she represents India on the global stage. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain handed over the sponsorship and praised her for consistently bringing laurels to the nation.
Jain said Shabana’s dedication, resilience and international achievements have made Ludhiana and the country proud. He added that the administration would continue supporting talented athletes so they receive the platforms they deserve.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the District Red Cross Society and the sports department to extend all necessary assistance to Shabana ahead of her participation.
Expressing gratitude, Shabana thanked the Deputy Commissioner and the district administration for their unwavering support as she prepares for the upcoming international event.
