In a bid to bridge the skill gap and boost employability among local youth, the Directorate of Printing & Stationery, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has rolled out a two-month vocational training program in offset printing machine operation and book binding.

The initiative, launched jointly by the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (SDE) and the Department of Printing & Stationery, aims to train 35 local youths in specialized printing and publishing techniques, preparing them for careers in the growing print media and publishing industry.

The program was formally inaugurated by Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Secretary Bullo Mamu and IPR, Printing & Stationery Secretary Nyali Ete, marking a key step in the state’s mission to create sustainable livelihood opportunities through targeted skill development.

“This program is a direct response to our recent skill gap analysis, which highlighted the shortage of trained professionals in offset printing and book binding,” said Secretary Bullo Mamu in her address. “We are committed to ensuring that our youth are not only trained but also supported in finding meaningful employment opportunities both within and outside the state.”

Echoing her views, Secretary Nyali Ete lauded the joint departmental effort, calling it “a progressive step toward empowering local youth to build sustainable livelihoods.” He urged participants to take full advantage of the training and assured continued government focus on practical, industry-driven skill development.

The comprehensive course will cover offset machine operation, pre-printing preparation, technical handling, and advanced binding and finishing methods, providing participants with hands-on exposure to real-world printing environments.

Joint Secretary (SDE) Sibo Passing expressed confidence in the program’s long-term impact, noting that it is “aligned with current industry requirements and designed to convert raw talent into job-ready professionals.”

The launch event saw participation from several dignitaries, including IPR Director Gijum Tali, Undersecretary (Printing & Stationery) B. Goswami, Deputy Director (Printing & Stationery) Heri Maring, Deputy Director (IPR) Marbang Ezing, and senior consultants from the Skill Development Department Vivek Raturi and Suman Shukla.

With this initiative, Arunachal Pradesh continues to strengthen its youth-oriented development agenda, ensuring that skill, opportunity, and industry demand move hand in hand — shaping a more self-reliant and future-ready generation.
