The 3 Punjab (G) Battalion NCC, Ludhiana, joined forces with six premier educational institutions to mark World Voters’ Day through a series of high-energy awareness activities held across the city today. The collaborative event successfully engaged hundreds of young cadets in a mission to strengthen the nation's democratic fabric.
The mega-celebration featured active participation from Khalsa College for Women (KCW), Government College for Girls (GCG), and Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women (GNKCW). They were joined by students from Sacred Heart Convent School (Sarabha Nagar), Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School (BRS Nagar), and Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School.
Cadets transformed their campuses into hubs of civic education by organizing competitive poster-making sessions and intensive voter awareness seminars. These young leaders used vibrant art and persuasive speech to illustrate the critical link between individual votes and national progress, emphasizing the duty of every eligible citizen to participate in the electoral process.
Commanding Officer Colonel R.S. Chauhan, accompanied by the Battalion’s PI staff, personally visited the venues to oversee the initiatives. He lauded the cadets for their artistic creativity and their sophisticated understanding of democratic values, noting that such grassroots movements are essential for building an informed electorate.
During his address, Colonel Chauhan urged the NCC cadets to act as ambassadors of democracy within their own neighborhoods. He encouraged them to take the message of responsible citizenship beyond the school gates and into the wider community to ensure maximum voter turnout in future elections.
The day concluded with a collective pledge by the participants to uphold the dignity of the democratic process. By integrating education with creative expression, the 3 Punjab (G) Battalion NCC and its partner institutions successfully instilled a sense of electoral responsibility in the next generation of Indian voters.
