MLA Madan Lal Bagga Launches ₹40 Lakh Storm Sewer Project in Shivpuri to End Waterlogging

In a major push to resolve chronic waterlogging in the Shivpuri area, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga on Monday launched a ₹40 lakh project to install a new storm sewer line near Tootiyan Wala Mandir.
The project, which falls under Ward 88 of the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, will lay the storm sewer from Tootiyan Wala Mandir up to Buddha Dariya. Officials said the new line is expected to provide long-awaited relief to residents and shopkeepers in Shivpuri’s main market, Jain Nagar, Basant Nagar and nearby localities.
During the inauguration, MLA Bagga was accompanied by councillor Neeraj Ahuja, councillor Aman Bagga and several residents. He said the storm sewer installation was a long-pending demand of the community and would significantly ease the problems faced during the rainy season.
Members of the Shivpuri Market Association, along with local residents, appreciated the MLA’s efforts and termed the project essential for the area’s development.
MLA Bagga added that the new sewer line would also improve sanitation levels. He directed civic officials to ensure that the work is carried out with strict adherence to quality standards.
He further said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, multiple development initiatives were being undertaken across Ludhiana to improve public facilities and ensure sustainable growth.
