Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora announced an investment of over ₹250 crore to upgrade the state’s research and development (R&D) centers during an Industry Interaction Session organized by the Ludhiana Management Association (LMA). Speaking at the Radisson Hotel, Minister Arora delivered two significant confirmations: Halwara Airport stands ready for operation, awaiting only final clearance, and the government will introduce sector-specific industrial policies by January 2026.

The Minister emphasized that Punjab will align its thrust industries with national priorities and introduce additional incentives to accelerate state industrial growth. He stressed the importance of agriculture–industry synergy for increasing productivity and promoting sustainable development across the state.

Arora confirmed several new initiatives aimed at fostering a better business environment. The government established sector-wise industrial committees to ensure direct and effective representation from the industry. Furthermore, the state will soon roll out a Private Industrial Park Policy and introduce incentives specifically for the modernization of existing industries. He highlighted ongoing Centre–State collaboration on key infrastructure projects and reiterated that Punjab’s landlocked position will not limit its industrial expansion ambitions.

Addressing environmental concerns, Minister Arora noted significant progress in managing dairy waste and improving the condition of the Buddha Nala. He also shared plans to establish new biogas plants as part of the sustainability drive.

LMA President Harpreet Kaur Kang delivered the Presidential Remarks, expressing gratitude for the Minister's detailed insights and affirming the association's commitment to supporting Punjab’s industrial ecosystem. The event saw enthusiastic participation from industrialists, entrepreneurs, academicians, and professionals, reinforcing LMA’s role as a vital platform for policy dialogue.
