Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Trident Group and the newly elected Rajya Sabha Member from Punjab from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President of India, C.P. Radhakrishnan, in New Delhi.

The meeting marked Gupta’s first official engagement after his unopposed election to the Upper House on October 16th. The Vice President, who also serves as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, warmly welcomed Gupta and congratulated him on his new constitutional role.

During the meeting, Rajinder Gupta sought the Vice President’s guidance and blessings as he prepares to begin his parliamentary responsibilities. He was accompanied by his wife, Madhu Gupta.

Speaking after the interaction, Gupta expressed his gratitude for the Vice President’s warm reception and encouragement. “I am deeply honoured to receive the Vice President’s blessings,” he said, adding that he is committed to working for the welfare of the people of Punjab and contributing meaningfully to national progress.

A Padma Shri awardee, Rajinder Gupta is widely recognised for his contributions to India’s textile and paper industries. Under his leadership, Trident Group has evolved into a global brand synonymous with innovation, sustainability, and excellence. Through the Trident Foundation, he has also been at the forefront of philanthropic initiatives in education, healthcare, and skill development across Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.

With his entry into the Rajya Sabha, Punjab is expected to benefit from his vast industrial experience and developmental vision, spanning agriculture, manufacturing, MSME growth, and employment generation. His expertise in policy formulation and sustainability practices is anticipated to bring fresh impetus to India’s textile and industrial sectors.
