Punjab CM Visits Victims’ Families in Jagraon After Fatal Mathura Boat Mishap

Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday visited Jagraon to meet families of those who lost their lives in the recent boat capsizing incident near Mathura and assured them of all possible support from the Punjab Government.

Expressing deep sorrow, the Chief Minister said the victims were on a pilgrimage to Vrindavan when the boat overturned in the Yamuna river, leading to the death of 11 people, while search operations continue for four missing persons. He stated that the state government is closely coordinating with authorities in Uttar Pradesh to ensure swift rescue and relief efforts.

Mann informed that Punjab has already dispatched teams of divers to assist in the ongoing search operations at the mishap site. He added that necessary medical treatment is being provided to those who survived the tragedy, and the government is monitoring the situation continuously.

Highlighting the need for preventive measures, the Chief Minister said he has spoken to his counterpart in Uttar Pradesh to ensure stricter safety protocols at religious sites. He emphasized that the safety and security of pilgrims must be a top priority to avoid such incidents in the future.

Offering condolences, Mann extended his sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for peace for the departed souls. He assured that the Punjab Government stands firmly with the affected families in this difficult time and will provide all necessary assistance.
