Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain visited Halwara Airport on Wednesday to inspect on-ground arrangements and ensure all infrastructure meets the deadline for the upcoming virtual inauguration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the project on February 1 to enhance regional air connectivity.

During the visit, Jain conducted a detailed inspection of the terminal site and reviewed security protocols with civil administration officers. He specifically checked the readiness of logistical planning and coordinated with various line departments to address any remaining technical requirements.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed all stakeholders to maintain a tight schedule to complete pending works within the next 48 hours. He emphasized that the administration must adhere strictly to prescribed protocols to facilitate a smooth virtual ceremony for the Prime Minister.

The district administration is currently working alongside multiple agencies to finalize the transition to active operations. Officials expect the airport to serve as a major economic catalyst by boosting industrial growth and providing better travel options for the local business community.

The Halwara Airport project aims to provide an all-weather aviation hub for the region, significantly improving the industrial landscape of Ludhiana and surrounding districts. The administration remains committed to a seamless launch that follows all national aviation guidelines.
