The Municipal Corporation building branch demolished an under-construction illegal colony in Peeru Banda and seven unauthorized buildings across Zone C on Friday. Under the direct supervision of MC Commissioner Dr. Neeru Katyal Gupta and Joint Commissioner Deepjot Kaur, enforcement teams razed the structures to curb unplanned urban development within the city limits.

The building branch targeted multiple locations in Zone C, including Eastman Chowk, Jaspal Bangar, and Daba Road, where they dismantled four commercial and three industrial buildings. Officials confirmed that these seven structures lacked the necessary permissions required for construction in these industrial and commercial hubs.

In a separate action in the Peeru Banda area, Zone A officials cleared an illegal colony that had previously faced enforcement. The owner had recently resumed construction activities at the site despite earlier warnings, prompting the civic body to intervene and demolish the new work on Friday.

MC officials urged residents to verify their building plans and obtain formal approval from the civic body before commencing any physical work on-site. They further maintained that the building branch will continue regular enforcement drives to ensure all construction follows the established legal framework and safety guidelines.
