The Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana on Monday launched an anti-encroachment drive on Club Road near Jagraon Bridge, removing around half a dozen illegal obstructions to improve traffic movement in the busy stretch of the city.

The tehbazaari team of the civic body carried out the action on Club Road, also known as Guru Nanak Stadium Road, as part of efforts to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and reduce congestion in the area.

Officials said the drive targeted encroachments that were occupying portions of the road and creating inconvenience for commuters. They issued a strict warning to violators, directing them not to reoccupy the road space.

The MC officials stated that similar anti-encroachment drives are being conducted regularly in different parts of Ludhiana to keep roads clear and maintain better traffic management across the city.

The civic body also appealed to shopkeepers and street vendors to avoid encroaching upon public roads and cooperate with the authorities. Officials warned that strict action would continue against those found violating the rules.
