Ludhiana Hosts ‘Run for Humanity’ Marathon; Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Mayor Inderjit Kaur Join Thousands

Thousands of residents, including prominent political figures and community leaders, gathered in Ludhiana on Sunday for the "Run for Humanity" marathon, an initiative organized to foster global peace and social harmony. The event, hosted by the Daswandh Foundation in collaboration with Team 1699, drew participants from diverse age groups and backgrounds to stand together against rising global tensions.

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur officially participated in the marathon. During the event, Speaker Sandhwan emphasized the need for unity in these challenging times. He praised the interfaith legacy of Punjab and called upon citizens to contribute toward the vision of a prosperous, vibrant state—a "Sone di Chiri"—by embracing collective responsibility and humanitarian values.

The marathon commenced early in the morning at Ghumar Mandi Chowk. Runners navigated through several key city landmarks, including College Road, Prince Hostel, and Fountain Chowk, before finishing the race at Rani Jhansi Road.

Organizers, including Jasdev Sekhon, Parampal Singh, and Gursahib Singh, credited the event's success to the widespread enthusiasm of youth, senior citizens, and various social organizations. They noted that the race served as a platform for citizens to express their commitment to a compassionate world.

Religious leaders, such as Shahi Imaam Muhammad Usman Rahmani Ludhianvi, Bishop John Grewal, and Parveen Choudhary of Maa Baglamukhi Dham, joined the event to reinforce the message of religious harmony. Several local organizations and public representatives also supported the marathon, turning the race into a significant demonstration of collective peace.
