Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Wednesday issued a firm assurance to the residents of Ludhiana that the district maintains a surplus stock of LPG, diesel, and petrol, effectively dismissing rumors of a looming fuel crisis. Following reports of increased anxiety among the public, the administration confirmed that the supply chain remains fully operational and capable of meeting daily consumer demands without interruption.

The Deputy Commissioner clarified the situation during a press briefing where he urged citizens to refrain from panic buying and hoarding. He emphasized that the district currently holds adequate reserves to ensure a seamless distribution of all essential fuels. Jain noted that unnecessary bulk purchasing creates artificial shortages, which in turn disrupts the established distribution system and causes avoidable inconvenience to the general public.

To maintain a transparent flow of information, the administration has implemented a rigorous monitoring system. Jain informed the public that he has sought daily, detailed reports regarding the stock levels and supply status of LPG, diesel, and petrol from all stakeholders. This proactive measure aims to detect any potential bottlenecks in real-time and ensure that essential supplies remain available at all retail outlets across the district.

The Deputy Commissioner also issued a stern warning against the spread of misinformation and unfounded rumors regarding fuel shortages. He advised residents to rely exclusively on official communications for updates and cautioned that legal action could be taken against those found inciting panic through false reports. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of the citizens and maintaining a steady flow of essential services.

Supporting these efforts, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Poonam Singh chaired a strategic meeting with representatives from various LPG gas agencies and major oil companies. The meeting focused on reviewing the current logistics and supply situation to ensure that transport and delivery mechanisms are optimized. The administration continues to coordinate closely with these providers to prevent any logistical gaps that could lead to genuine scarcity.
