Mayor Inderjit Kaur Hands Over Jobs to 61 Kin of Deceased MC Employees in Ludhiana

Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur provided a major relief to dozens of families on Monday by handing over appointment letters to 61 next of kin of deceased Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana employees during a ceremony at the MC Zone D office. These appointments, granted on compassionate grounds to the relatives of staff who died while on duty, aim to provide financial stability and long-term support to the bereaved families.

The recruitment drive covered a wide range of roles tailored to the candidates' educational qualifications, ensuring that the legacy of the deceased employees continues within the civic body. The new inductees include 37 sweepers, 12 Sewadars (peons), three clerks, three Beldars, three sewermen, two junior draftsmen, and one driver.

Deputy Mayor Prince Johar and Superintendent Tarun Goyal joined the Mayor at the event to officially welcome the new staff members into the municipal workforce. During the distribution, Mayor Inderjit Kaur urged the appointees to honor their new roles by working with high levels of efficiency and transparency to serve the residents of Ludhiana effectively.

The atmosphere at the Zone D office was one of profound gratitude, as many recipients expressed that their files had been caught in administrative delays for several years. The emotional beneficiaries thanked the Mayor for her personal intervention in clearing the backlog and providing them with a secure livelihood after years of uncertainty.

Mayor Kaur stated that these efforts align with the broader mission of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s government to prioritize public welfare and employee support. She further noted that the civic body remains committed to listening to employee feedback and implementing consistent measures to ensure the well-being of its entire staff.
