A tree plantation drive in Ward No. 19 turned into a celebration of both greenery and community spirit this morning. Organized by Nature’s Friend Foundation at the DCM Presidency, Kids Garden School Road Park, the event also marked the birthday of Harsimran Singh from Sambhav NGO, who chose to celebrate the occasion by planting a tree.

The campaign was inaugurated by Nidhi Gupta, Ward No. 19 councilor and district secretary of the Aam Aadmi Party. Planting the first sapling, she said, “Tree plantation is the biggest investment of our life. Every tree is a gift of oxygen and clean environment for the coming generations. I want every citizen to plant at least one tree on birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions.”

Gupta further praised the initiative, adding that such events strengthen society’s commitment to environmental protection. Foundation president Amit Paul highlighted that Nature’s Friend is consistently working to increase greenery in the city while spreading awareness about environmental issues.

Following the plantation drive, the program featured a cultural performance and a community breakfast, drawing enthusiastic participation from local residents and youth. Attendees extended birthday wishes to Harsimran Singh and pledged to protect the environment. Community members including Abhishek Gupta and several local NGO volunteers were also present.

With a blend of celebration and civic responsibility, the tree plantation drive in Ward No. 19 offered a model for how personal milestones can be transformed into acts of lasting public good.
