The 17th Aadivasi Yuva Aadan-Pradaan Programme (Tribal Youth Exchange Programme) concluded at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on Thursday after a week-long national integration initiative that brought together 200 tribal youth from across the country. The programme was organised by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs to promote unity, leadership and cultural exchange among young participants from tribal-dominated districts.

Pragati Verma, IAS (Under Training), attended the closing ceremony as Chief Guest, while Assistant Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Deputy Director MY Bharat, Ludhiana, Rashmeet Kaur welcomed the dignitaries and presented a detailed report of the seven-day activities.

A total of 200 tribal youth along with 20 escorts from ten districts — Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Mohalla–Manpur–Ambagarh Chowki, Sukma, West Singhbhum, Balaghat, Kandhamal, Malkangiri and Kalahandi — participated in the exchange programme. The initiative aimed to expose participants to educational institutions, industrial establishments and key government schemes while strengthening national integration.

The ceremony began with the singing of Vande Mataram. Participants shared their experiences and highlighted how the programme enhanced their confidence and awareness about career opportunities and government initiatives. The Odisha team secured first prize in the cultural competitions and presented a vibrant performance during the valedictory function. Organisers distributed certificates and prizes to the winners and participants.

During the week, the youth attended sessions on leadership, communication skills, career guidance and flagship government programmes. Experts also conducted awareness sessions on mental health and substance abuse. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force provided disaster management training, while participants took part in plantation activities at the PAU Forestry Department and visited educational and industrial sites in and around Ludhiana.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem and a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the seven-day national integration effort.
