Property Dealer Murder Solved in 30 Hours, Two Gang Members Arrested After Encounter

The Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) on Thursday apprehended two shooters allegedly associated with the Bambiha gang following a fierce encounter in Kaithal, Haryana, in connection with the daylight murder of a property dealer in Sector 9 yesterday (Wednesday).
The arrested accused, identified as Piyush Pehelwan of Ferozepur and Pritam Shah of Nawanshahr, are said to be key operatives of fugitive gangster Lucky Patial.
During the police operation, the suspects opened fire on the police teams to evade arrest. The AGTF personnel retaliated in self-defense, injuring both suspects in the legs before taking them into custody.
The police recovered three sophisticated weapons from the accused along with the motorcycle used in the crime. The injured suspects are currently undergoing treatment under heavy police guard at a hospital.
Investigations have revealed that Piyush Pehelwan had recently sneaked into India illegally from Malaysia via Nepal to carry out the hit.
The operation follows the brazen killing of 31-year-old Chamanpreet Singh, alias Chini, on Wednesday morning. Singh, a resident of Kubaheri village in Mullanpur, had arrived at a gym in Sector 9 , Chandigarh in his SUV. As he parked his vehicle, the two bike-borne assailants intercepted him and fired over 10 rounds at close range, killing him on the spot before fleeing toward Haryana.
Officials are conducting further raids to identify local accomplices who provided logistical support and a recce of the victim’s movements prior to the execution of the murder.
