PAU Police Station Cracks Motorcycle Snatching Case, Two Arrested

The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police successfully apprehended two individuals on February 21, 2026, for their involvement in a violent motorcycle snatching incident. Acting under the direct supervision of Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma (IPS) and Additional Commissioner Rupinder Singh (IPS), a team from the PAU Police Station tracked down the suspects within days of the crime.

The investigation began after Vikas Kumar, a local resident, reported that three bike-borne assailants intercepted him and his friend near Chand Colony on Panj Peer Road around 11:10 PM on February 18. The victim stated that the suspects, armed with sharp-edged weapons, physically assaulted them before forcibly taking his black Splendor motorcycle (PB-10-JU-0122) and fleeing toward Gupta Sweet Shop.

Following the formal statement, ADCP Zone-3 Kanwalpreet Singh Chahal (PPS) and ACP West Jatinderpal Singh (PPS) coordinated a rapid response led by Inspector Rajinder Pal Singh. The police team identified the suspects as Navjot Singh, alias Jyot, a resident of Baba Jeevan Singh Nagar, and Harnek Singh, alias Neka, from Ashok Nagar, Salem Tabri.

During the arrest, officers recovered the victim's stolen motorcycle along with the unregistered black Splendor used by the criminals to commit the robbery. Technical details of the getaway bike, including the chassis and engine numbers, matched the descriptions provided during the probe.

The PAU Police Station has officially registered Case No. 33 under Sections 304(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the duo and a third accomplice known as "Aalu," who remains at large. Police officials confirmed that the arrested suspects are currently under interrogation to determine their involvement in other snatching incidents across the city.
