38-Year-Old Man Held with Heroin During Ludhiana Anti-Drug Drive

Ludhiana Police arrested a 38-year-old man on Tuesday and recovered 50 grams of heroin during a special anti-drug operation conducted under the ongoing “War Against Drugs” campaign. The arrest took place in the Manmohan Colony area on Bahadurke Road, officials said.

Police carried out the action under the directions of Commissioner of Police Ludhiana, Swapan Sharma, IPS. Senior officers, including Additional Commissioner of Police Rupinder Singh, IPS, ADCP-1 Sameer Verma, PPS, and ACP North Kikkar Singh, PPS, supervised the operation.

Inspector Jasvir Singh, Station House Officer of Police Station Jodhewal, led the patrol team that conducted the raid. During routine patrolling, the police team intercepted the suspect at a vacant plot in Manmohan Colony.

Police identified the accused as Sukhjinder Lal, son of Dayal Singh, a resident of Manmohan Colony. Officers searched the suspect and recovered 50 grams of heroin from his possession.

Police registered FIR No. 24 dated 10.02.2026 at Police Station Jodhewal under Sections 21-B/61/85 of the NDPS Act. Authorities produced the accused before a court and obtained one day of police remand.

Police stated that further investigation is underway. Officers are questioning the accused to trace the source of the narcotics and identify possible links to drug trafficking networks.
