ICAI Ludhiana Holds Seminar on Bank Branch Audit

The Ludhiana Branch of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized an intensive seminar on "Bank Branch Audit" on Saturday. Held at the Ludhiana branch office under the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board's guidance, the event aimed to equip local chartered accountants with practical technical insights into contemporary banking practices and regulatory compliance.
Distinguished speakers CA Lokesh Gupta and CA Kuntal Pradip Shah conducted the primary technical sessions. Gupta focused his presentation on IRAC norms and critical focus areas of the Long Form Audit Report (LFAR), while Shah provided a detailed guide on utilizing Core Banking System (CBS) reports and commands to increase audit accuracy and efficiency.
The Guest of Honour, CA Sanjay Vasudeva, former Central Council Member of ICAI, delivered a keynote address highlighting the rapidly shifting landscape of bank audits. He urged the attending professionals to prioritize continuous technical upgrades to successfully navigate emerging challenges in the financial sector.
NIRC Vice-Chairman CA Hitesh Goyal also addressed the gathering, stressing the vital role of professional competence in the auditing field. The seminar drew a significant turnout of professionals from Ludhiana and surrounding districts, including a notable presence of women chartered accountants.
During his welcome address, Ludhiana Branch Chairman CA Vikas Goyal extended special wishes for International Women’s Day, acknowledging the rising leadership of women within the profession. The event commenced with remarks from Branch Secretary CA Keshav Gupta and concluded with a vote of thanks from Vice-Chairman CA Rakesh Kumar Grover.
Several managing committee members supported the proceedings, including CA Avneet Singh, CA Shilpi Sharma, CA Mohit Wasan, CA Sumit Bharti Gupta, CA Lovish Gupta, and CA Aman Garg. The seminar served as a collaborative platform for members to exchange expertise on high-level auditing standards.
