The Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organisation (FICO) met with Rupinder Singh, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police in Ludhiana today to demand immediate security measures for the city's industrial sectors. A high-level delegation, led by Chairman K.K. Seth and President Gurmeet Singh Kular, presented a detailed representation highlighting a sharp rise in robberies and thefts targeting both industrial units and migrant laborers.

The delegation specifically urged the police to implement 100% surveillance coverage across all major industrial areas and focal points. They reported that criminals frequently target migrant workers for cash and valuables, which significantly hinders labor retention and disrupts daily industrial operations.

Industrialists identified Giaspura, Dhandari, and Sherpur as high-risk zones requiring urgent police intervention due to the dense population of migratory labor. The leaders requested enhanced PCR deployment during the "salary window" from the 7th to 10th and 22nd to 25th of every month, when workers are most vulnerable to cash-related crimes.

To counter the advantage criminals gain during foggy weather, the industry demanded intensified night patrolling for units operating round-the-clock. The delegation also proposed the establishment of "Police Halt Points" in every phase of the Focal Points to ensure a faster response time during emergencies.

Rupinder Singh assured the industrialists of a positive approach toward their safety concerns. The delegation, including representatives from the UCPMA and other major trade bodies, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the police in maintaining a secure environment for industrial growth.
