Aditya Munjal, CEO of Hero Cycles Limited, announced a major commitment to upgrade the industrial training infrastructure at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Ludhiana during an official visit on Friday.

Addressing the immediate labor shortage in the bicycle manufacturing sector, Munjal declared that Hero Cycles requires 40 skilled welders urgently. To bridge this gap, he promised to modernize the institute's welding and robotic welding workshops under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives as soon as possible.

The CEO's visit focused on reviewing the modern machinery and technological advancements at the Gill Road campus. Chairman of I.M.C. ITI Ludhiana,Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma, and Deputy Director Baljinder Singh briefed the CEO on the institution's recent expansion into high-tech trades.

The leadership team showcased several facilities inaugurated on April 3, 2025, which follow the strategic directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan. These upgrades aim to align vocational training with global standards under the guidance of Technical Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.

Munjal toured various specialized units, including the CNC Machining and Tool and Die workshops. He specifically inspected several CSR-funded labs, such as the Daikin-upgraded refrigeration workshop and the Maruti Suzuki Basic Training Lab, noting the impact of industry-partnered education.

Baljinder Singh and the institute staff highlighted the importance of these partnerships in maintaining the state-of-the-art machinery currently used to train local students. The collaboration with Hero Cycles is expected to introduce specific equipment tailored to the needs of the global bicycle industry.

The visit concluded with the IMC and staff expressing gratitude for Munjal's commitment. They noted that the proposed robotic welding upgrades will significantly enhance the employability of Ludhiana's youth in the modern manufacturing landscape.
