Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Friday inaugurated an ultra-modern Tool Room set up by KJ Group at the Focal Point industrial area in Ludhiana, stating that Punjab’s industry-friendly policies are attracting continuous investments and creating large-scale employment opportunities across the state.

Speaking at the inauguration, Arora said the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government has ensured a peaceful and supportive industrial environment under the Invest Punjab initiative. He informed that since 2022, Punjab has received investments worth nearly ₹1.50 lakh crore, leading to employment opportunities for around 5.25 lakh people.

The newly established Tool Room, developed by KJ Forging at a cost of ₹35 crore, marks a major expansion of the group’s manufacturing capabilities in Ludhiana. Arora said the government is consistently working to strengthen infrastructure and policy support, encouraging both local entrepreneurs and industrialists from other states to invest in Punjab.

Highlighting future investments, the minister said KJ Group invested ₹52 crore during 2025 and plans to invest another ₹66 crore in 2026 through the establishment of a 12 MW solar power plant. He added that such projects would generate employment for thousands of unemployed youth in the state.

Arora also expressed satisfaction that most of the machinery installed in the new unit has been manufactured in India, particularly in cities like Bengaluru and Gujarat, reducing reliance on imported equipment and strengthening domestic manufacturing.

Responding to media queries, the minister said he would address issues related to Municipal Corporations and Municipal Councils on a priority basis in his role as the Local Government Minister. He added that instructions have been issued to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited to ensure no hanging wires remain in villages, towns, or cities, with tenders already underway in 87 sub-divisions.

He further said the state government is upgrading sewage systems and improving road infrastructure across Punjab. Referring to environmental initiatives, Arora said the revival of Budha Dariya is being carried out on a war footing, with a complete ban imposed on dumping cow dung and dairy waste into the river. He added that dyeing units and other industries along the riverbanks have been directed to ensure that no untreated effluents are discharged.

On the occasion, KJ Group thanked the Punjab government for its industrial-friendly policies and peaceful working environment and contributed ₹21 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The event was attended by State Information Commissioner Harpreet Singh Sandhu, CICU representative Upkar Singh Ahuja, Chief Administrator GLADA Sandeep Kumar, KJ Group representatives Gopi and Amit Kothari, Naveen Behl, and several industrialists.
