CICU Showcases Advanced R&D and AI Facilities to PSAIMA Delegation

Members of the Punjab State Agricultural Implements Manufacturers Association (PSAIMA) toured the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) on Saturday to explore cutting-edge R&D and Artificial Intelligence facilities aimed at modernizing the state's agricultural manufacturing sector.
The delegation visited a trio of advanced centers, including the JRS State-of-the-Art Research & Development (R&D) Facility, the Metro Tyre’s iHub – AwaDH Lab, and the CICU Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab. This visit provided local manufacturers with direct exposure to innovation-driven tools designed to boost industrial productivity and global competitiveness.
Dr. Talwinder Singh Bedi, CICU’s Manager of Operations & Administration, detailed the practical applications of each facility during a comprehensive presentation. He explained how the JRS facility streamlines product testing and validation, while the AwaDH Lab bridges the gap between industrial needs and academic research through advanced prototyping.
The AI Lab specifically demonstrated how automation and data analytics can help manufacturers reduce operational costs and improve decision-making. Dr. Bedi noted that these facilities provide Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with essential access to expert mentorship and technological demonstrations that were previously out of reach for smaller units.
CICU President Upkar Singh Ahuja met with the manufacturers to discuss the shifting industrial landscape, stressing that digital transformation is now a necessity for survival. He urged the association members to actively integrate these tools into their production lines to strengthen the regional manufacturing sector.
"CICU remains committed to empowering industries through technology adoption and knowledge-driven growth," the leadership stated in a joint declaration. The organization reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for innovation by offering continuous access to these high-tech labs and supporting process excellence for MSMEs.
The manufacturers expressed strong interest in future collaborations, acknowledging that integrating AI and advanced R&D is vital for creating future-ready industrial practices in Punjab.
