In a major step toward promoting women’s financial independence, Vardhman Special Steels Limited (VSSL), under its CSR initiative Nari Shakti and in association with the District Administration, Ludhiana, launched the Women Digital Literacy Project — VSSL Mera Bill App for women micro-entrepreneurs across the district.

The two-day training programme was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Bains and Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, Jasdev Sekhon, who jointly emphasized the importance of digital and financial literacy for women in business. The project aims to train all self-help groups and community resource persons on financial management, digital transactions, and the use of the Mera Bill App for business promotion.

The event also saw the participation of Dr. Pooja Chatley, Head of Management Studies, Khalsa College for Women; officials from Peabody and Vardhman Group; Avtar Singh, Project Officer from the ADC Office; Nishant, DPM PSRLM; Satindee, Manager CSR Administration of VSSL; Nilesh Gupta, and Sunny.

Addressing the gathering, ADC Amarjit Bains praised the efforts of Vardhman Special Steels Limited and its Chairman Sachit Jain for consistently contributing to social and economic empowerment initiatives. He stated that such training programs would help women become self-reliant and digitally equipped to expand their businesses.

The training is being conducted over two days to ensure maximum participation and aims to create a strong foundation for women entrepreneurs in Ludhiana to adapt to digital tools and financial literacy for sustainable growth.
