Hardeep Singh Mundian Inaugurates New Sub-Tehsil Facility in Ludhiana

Punjab Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Tuesday inaugurated a new Sub-Tehsil Complex in Ludhiana North, a facility aimed at making registration and revenue-related services more accessible for local residents. The government constructed the complex at a cost of ₹38 lakh and appointed Naib Tehsildar Jagseer Singh as its in-charge.
Mundian formally dedicated the complex to the public and said the state government was committed to improving citizen services through better administrative infrastructure. He added that the facility would help residents complete official work closer to their homes instead of travelling to other parts of the city.
The new complex houses the offices of the Sub-Registrar, registration room, reader room and fard room. Authorities have also provided a public waiting hall, canteen, generator room and washrooms to improve convenience for visitors.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mundian said the facility would witness a large daily footfall and would provide a better working environment for employees while ensuring faster public service. He also claimed that previous governments had not focused on such people-oriented projects.
Ludhiana North MLA Chaudhary Madan Lal Bagga said the establishment of the sub-tehsil fulfilled a long-pending demand of residents. He noted that people earlier faced difficulties in getting property registrations completed and often had to travel considerable distances for the service.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain said the government had developed the facility after residents repeatedly raised the issue of travelling to Transport Nagar for registration work. He stated that officials had equipped the complex with furniture, computers, cameras, air-conditioning and other public amenities before making it operational.
The sub-tehsil started functioning on Tuesday. Several public representatives and senior officials, including MLAs Ashok Prashar Pappi and Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Neeru Katyal Gupta and Revenue Department Special Secretary T. Benith, attended the inauguration ceremony.
