Former Youth Akali Dal leader Manpreet Singh Talwandi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday in the presence of Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar, senior BJP leader Ashwani Sharma and BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh. The induction took place as the BJP continues to strengthen its organizational base in Punjab ahead of future political activities in the state.
Talwandi began his political career through student politics and remained actively associated with public affairs since his college days. He started his journey with the student wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal and served as District President of GSOI from 2008 to 2013.
From 2013 to 2018, Talwandi worked as a Zila Parishad Member in Ludhiana. He later served as District President of Youth Akali Dal, Ludhiana Rural, from 2015 to 2018, strengthening his presence among youth workers and rural voters in the district.
Welcoming Talwandi into the BJP fold, party leaders expressed confidence that his political experience, grassroots connect and organizational background would help further strengthen the party in Punjab.
