Nomination Process Begins for Municipal Council Elections in Ludhiana District

The State Election Commission has announced the schedule for filing nominations for the upcoming Municipal Council elections in various towns of Ludhiana district. Candidates will be able to submit their nomination papers from May 13 to May 16 between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm at designated centres.

According to the election schedule, officials will scrutinise the nomination papers on May 18, while candidates can withdraw their nominations till May 19. The elections will cover Municipal Councils in Khanna, Samrala, Doraha, Payal, Jagraon and Raikot.

Authorities have set up separate venues for the nomination process in different towns. Candidates contesting from Khanna will file their papers at the Meeting Hall of the Municipal Council on Amloh Road, while those from Samrala will submit nominations at the SDM Court Room. In Doraha, the nomination process will take place at the Construction Sub Division office of the PWD on GT Road.

For candidates contesting elections in Payal, Jagraon and Raikot, the SDM Office Court Room has been designated as the venue for filing nomination papers.

Polling for the Municipal Council elections will be conducted on May 26, and the counting of votes will take place on May 29.
