NIF Global Ludhiana Unveils “NEXT 2026” With AI-Powered Fashion Innovation

New York Institute of Fashion (NIF Global) Ludhiana hosted its annual graduating fashion presentation “NEXT 2026” at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, bringing together an evening of fashion, innovation and emerging design talent. The showcase featured original collections created by graduating students and highlighted the institute’s growing focus on artificial intelligence, sustainability and future-ready fashion education.
The event attracted industry professionals, academicians, defence dignitaries, fashion enthusiasts, students and families. Senior officers from the Army, Air Force, Navy and Punjab Police attended the programme as Guests of Honour, including Major General Raminder Goraya, Colonel Maninder Chahal, Group Captain Arminder Singh Bumrah, Wing Commander Rajinder Singh and Commander Vijendra Rana.
Young designers presented collections inspired by Punjabi folklore, Rajasthan’s royal heritage, surrealism, sustainability, architecture and futuristic themes. The runway presentations reflected extensive research, garment construction, styling and conceptual storytelling, showcasing evolving standards in fashion education.
One of the major highlights of the evening was the AI-inspired group collection “Meridian” presented by second-year students. The collection explored avant-garde fashion concepts influenced by architecture and AI-assisted ideation. The institute stated that students received training in prompt engineering, AI-assisted visual generation and concept development using emerging technologies such as ChatGPT.
Graduating designers who showcased their collections included Harmeet Kaur, Vanshika Kaushal, Palak Garg, Mehakpreet Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur, Pooja Soni E, Noor Bajaj, Sanya Kakkar, Shivani Khanna, Sneha Gupta, Harsh Verma and Avneet Jassal.
Speaking about the event, the management of NIF Global Ludhiana said that “NEXT 2026” served not only as a fashion show but also as a platform for students to learn professionalism, teamwork, innovation and industry readiness. The institute also highlighted its academic collaborations with Medhavi Skills University and NSDC under the Work Integrated Skill Education (WISE) programme aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
The institute management further informed that students receive exposure to international fashion platforms, including New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Dubai Fashion Week and Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI. During the event, the institute also honoured students who had previously showcased their work at national and international fashion platforms.
The evening concluded with acknowledgements for faculty members, backstage volunteers, choreography teams, technical crews, photographers, videographers and media teams for their contribution to making the showcase a professionally curated production.
