Over 2,750 Candidates Appear for UPSC Prelims Across 14 Centres in Ludhiana

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination was conducted smoothly and peacefully across 14 examination centres in Ludhiana on Sunday, with the district administration putting extensive arrangements in place to ensure hassle-free examinations for thousands of aspirants.
According to officials, out of 4,353 registered candidates, 2,753 candidates appeared in the morning session, including 1,300 males and 1,453 females. In the afternoon session, 2,728 candidates took the examination, comprising 1,287 male and 1,441 female candidates.
The examination was held in two shifts across the district. The first paper took place from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, while the second paper was conducted from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain visited several examination centres to inspect the arrangements and monitor the conduct of the examination. He stated that the administration had ensured comprehensive facilities, including adequate security, transportation, seating arrangements, drinking water, uninterrupted electricity supply, medical support and other essential services for candidates.
The designated examination centres included DCM Presidency School, MGM Public School, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, R.S. Model Senior Secondary School and Government College for Girls, Rakh Bagh. Examinations were also conducted at SCD Government College, SDP College for Women, Khalsa College for Women, Malwa Central College of Education for Women, School of Eminence and Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College.
The administration also deployed adequate police personnel, including male and female staff members, at every examination centre to maintain law and order. Officials carried out frisking of candidates at all venues to ensure transparency and security during the examination process.
