Every nook and corner of the mixed-land use (MLU) areas of the city came alive on Tuesday afternoon as contestants from Team Chawla, along with a large number of supporters, launched a door-to-door campaign to meet United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) members operating shops, factories, and offices in these areas.

The show of strength was led by presidential candidate D.S. Chawla, accompanied by Senior Vice President candidate Jaswinder Singh Thukral, Vice President candidate Rohit Raheja, General Secretary candidate Varun Kapoor, Secretary candidate Varun Aggarwal, Joint Secretary candidate Varinder Kumar Durga, Propaganda Secretary candidate Hardeep Singh Sohal, and Finance Secretary candidate Gaurav Sood. Prominent backers of the group, including Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma, Jagatveer Singh Bittu, Rajan Gupta, and Acchru Ram Gupta, were also present on the occasion.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the campaign, Chawla said, “It is the most wonderful day of my life—not only are my teammates and industry leaders with me, but also the ordinary voters of UCPMA are walking alongside us to show their support. Wherever we go, people are telling us only one thing: they are going to bring Team Chawla into UCPMA with an absolute majority. Election day on August 29 will be historic for the association, as we are confident of winning all the seats. The support we have received from prominent industry names like Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma, Rajan Gupta, Sanjay Nice and others has already proven that candidates of our group compare to none”

Giving more information about the campaign, Jaswinder Singh Thukral said, “No one has ever seen such a sea of UCPMA members turning out openly and wholeheartedly to support any group contesting the elections. Members have given a clear message today—they fully support the vision of our team and know who can resolve their issues, which have remained pending for the last two years. Businessmen are fed up with red-tapism and bureaucracy, which has begun taking them for granted. They know it is only our team that can change this attitude within the officers’ lobby and restore the respect industrialists deserve.”

Meanwhile, Varun Kapoor said, “We are going to bring back the lost trust of members in UCPMA and ensure that even the smallest of their issues is taken seriously and resolved in a time-bound manner.
