Ludhiana’s District Administration successfully wrapped up a dynamic two-day Bal Sansad training programme on April 17, 2026, equipping local educators with the tools to cultivate leadership and democratic values within the classroom. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Shri Himanshu Jain and facilitated by Wings of Wisdom, the initiative transformed teachers into mentors capable of establishing robust Children’s Parliaments across the region’s schools.

The final day of the workshop saw teachers diving into the mechanics of institutional growth through detailed SWOC analysis, where they evaluated the strengths and challenges of their current school structures. This analytical approach allowed participants to draft comprehensive six-month action plans, ensuring that the student-led parliaments move beyond theory and into practical, high-impact activities.

A significant portion of the training focused on the ethical responsibilities of leadership, featuring intensive sessions on child rights and POCSO awareness. By integrating these safety protocols, the administration ensured that student engagement remains rooted in a secure and informed environment.

The sessions also emphasized experiential learning, moving away from traditional lectures to favor group activities and community partnership strategies. Teachers explored various methods for monitoring and evaluation, identifying how local community involvement can provide the necessary support for student-led initiatives to thrive at the grassroots level.

During the closing ceremony, the District Education Officer and Deputy Education Officer addressed the gathering, expressing their appreciation for the teachers' active engagement. They highlighted the importance of fostering student agency early in life and distributed certificates to recognize the dedication shown by the attendees throughout the intensive two-day schedule.

The programme concluded with a strong sense of optimism as educators shared their feedback and prepared to implement these democratic frameworks in their respective schools. This initiative represents a major stride for Ludhiana in building a generation of civic-minded leaders who understand the value of participation and the power of a collective voice.
