Powerful Blast at Jalandhar Scrap Shop Leaves One Dead, Two Hurt

A powerful explosion ripped through a scrap shop in Jalandhar on Sunday, killing one person and injuring two others, triggering panic among residents and prompting an immediate police and forensic investigation.
The blast occurred in the Santokhpura area when workers were present inside the scrap warehouse. The impact was so intense that it shook nearby houses and was heard across the locality. Locals rushed to the spot after hearing the loud explosion and alerted the authorities.
Police identified the deceased as a scrap worker who died on the spot due to severe injuries caused by the blast. Two other workers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the civil hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
The police have registered a case and started questioning the shop owner and workers to find out what material was stored at the premises and whether safety norms were violated.
Further investigation is underway, and officials said more clarity will emerge once forensic reports are received.
