Firing at Ludhiana Wedding Function Leaves Two guests Dead; Six Arrested

A late-night firing incident at Bath Castle in Ludhiana on Friday left two persons dead and sparked panic at a wedding function, leading to six arrests and criminal cases against the groom and the venue management.
According to a statement issued by Ludhiana Police Commissioner, IPS Swapan Sharma the clash broke out between two youngsters, Shubham Agarwal and Ankur, after a minor dispute escalated under the influence of alcohol. Both had been invited to the function by the groom, along with their friends.
CP Sharma confirmed that the incident was not a gang war and said that some of the youths involved have a history of quarrels, and the argument last night turned violent within minutes.
Ludhiana Police booked the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Six people were rounded up on Saturday morning in connection with the firing.
Police also registered a case against the groom for inviting individuals with a questionable background, contributing to the disturbance at the wedding.
Additionally, the management of Bath Castle has been booked for repeated violations of security guidelines and administrative norms required for hosting public gatherings.
The investigation is underway, and police have assured strict action against all those responsible for the disruption.
