The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against an Assistant Commissioner of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), Jaipur, for allegedly accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

According to CBI , the case was registered on October 28th, 2025, following allegations that the officer illicitly enriched himself by acquiring substantial pecuniary resources and properties in his name and that of his family members.

Preliminary findings suggest that while serving in the CGST offices at Jaipur and Ahmedabad between August 2018 and August 2025, the accused allegedly amassed assets worth around ₹2.54 crore, nearly 100% more than his legitimate income. The agency has also alleged that several firms, LLPs, and companies owned by the officer’s family members were used as conduits to channel ill-gotten money.

CBI teams carried out searches at multiple locations in Jaipur, Ankleshwar, and Ahmedabad, which reportedly led to the recovery of gold and silver jewellery valued at approximately ₹35 lakh. Investigators also found that the accused and his family possessed several immovable properties across Rajasthan and owned premium vehicles including a Porsche and a Jeep Compass.

In addition, the agency has identified two bank lockers held in the names of the family members. CBI sources confirmed that follow-up action and scrutiny of seized materials are currently in progress.
