The MSME-Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO) in Ludhiana successfully concluded a high-impact, two-day PM Vishwakarma Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair on February 23, 2026, marking a significant milestone for local artisans. Organized under the supervision of Assistant Director and Nodal Officer Deepak Chechi, the event drew approximately 2,000 visitors who engaged directly with 100 skilled beneficiaries showcasing a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern innovation.

The exhibition served as a vital bridge between heritage and commerce, allowing participants to market their products directly to the public while gaining professional validation. Artisans expressed immense satisfaction with the overwhelming response, noting that the platform provided much-needed visibility for their trades. To bolster this support, various government entities including SIDBI, India Post, and the Central Tool Room established information stalls to guide craftspeople through available institutional resources.

Parallel to the trade fair, Pankaj Kumar Jha, Joint Director and Head of Office, chaired a critical review meeting with Lead District Managers (LDMs) from across Punjab and Chandigarh. During this session,  Ishita Thaman, Deputy Director, addressed the status of pending loan cases, urging banking officials to streamline the sanctioning and disbursement process. The dialogue focused on ensuring that the financial objectives of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme translate into tangible capital for the beneficiaries.

The second day also featured a specialized awareness session aimed at digital and marketing empowerment. Wazir Singh, Deputy Director, provided an in-depth lecture on the PM Vishwakarma and PMEGP schemes, while LDM Gurdeep Singh advised artisans on maintaining healthy CIBIL scores to facilitate future credit. Marketing expert Ganga Ram further enriched the session with strategies for online selling and branding, sharing success stories to inspire the participants.

The event concluded with a comprehensive presentation by Suman Preet Kaur from India Post Payments Bank, who simplified the complexities of e-commerce and digital transactions for the attendees. Following a series of interactive Q&A rounds, the MSME-DFO leadership distributed participation certificates to all exhibitors. Krishan Kumar, Assistant Director, delivered the vote of thanks, closing the event with a group photograph that captured the collaborative spirit of Ludhiana’s artisan community.
